Trauma Therapy / EMDR
If you are struggling with low self-esteem, emotional reactions that feel out of proportion to current events or self-defeating patterns in your job or relationships, you may be having a "trauma reaction" to unprocessed psychological material. Our practitioners can identify when trauma factors are at play in your symptoms and prescribe the correct treatment for you.
Trauma therapy uses principles of neuroscience to help you get “unstuck"from these patterns, allowing constructive reconsolidation of troubling events and/or memories to occur and, with that, more adaptive patterns of relating to self and others to emerge. It is more than just "talk therapy." When traumatic events are accessed and processed in a particular way, they are given the opportunity to be reprocessed and "filed away" with more adaptive information, new beliefs and lessons, and without all of the original emotional reactivity. Changes in behavioral and relationship patterns and self-esteem often follow, and clients report that these changes occur with much more ease than before the trauma therapy, when changes felt like an often-frustrating uphill battle.
Some highly effective trauma therapies that we use are Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Somatic Experiencing and EMDR (Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy). Feel free to choose the modality of trauma therapy that is most comfortable for you.
Don’t hesitate any longer - it is time to let go of your anxiety, self-doubt and self-defeating patterns and become who you were meant to be!
